5 Reasons I'm Excited for Winter
We’ve all noticed the change in weather and the dark early nights that are drawing in. We’re still waiting for the official seasonal change with the clocks yet to go back but I feel ready for Autumn/Winter now. I’m certainly one that loves experiencing 4 different seasons a year, I think I’d feel pretty lost if I went a whole year without spending a few days on the sofa wrapped up in a blanket with a hot chocolate. I absolutely love the summer months, but there are so many benefits of Autumn/Winter days that make it equally as good.
01 A/W Clothes. Probably the most significant for me. I prefer A/W clothes so much more than summer ones. Since I was young, I’ve loved to layer my outfits with scarves, jackets, coats etc. I think it helps to make outfits much more interesting. Over the past few weeks, I’ve spoken to a few of my friends and we couldn’t express enough how excited we are to wear chunky knit jumpers and scarves. There’s so many different types of jackets and coats out there. From trench coats, to bomber jackets, they all help to create a different aesthetic and style.
02 Candles. I love lighting candles but during the summer, I don’t get to appreciate them as much as I do in the Autumn/Winter. Half the time, I’m walking round the house with all the windows and doors open so any fragrance is just lost. Whereas in the Winter, I love wrapping up in a blanket on the sofa or in bed, with the lamps and candles on, working away on my laptop. You’ll never see my bedroom without a Yankee candle, it’s just a necessity when it comes to Winter ……
03 Christmas. Just when you thought your holidays were over for the summer. Christmas is the biggest holiday in itself and I love the build up to it. Some people may think it’s too early to start talking about Christmas but personally, I wish it would come sooner! I love walking into shops and seeing the decorations coming out, festive colours and songs. As I now work full-time in London, and practically next door to Harrods, I think I’m going to feel the Christmas spirit a whole lot earlier than I did before.
04 Starbucks. Since working across the road from a Starbucks, I’ve become even more obsessed with hot chocolate. Every morning, I love to grab myself a hot drink before going into the office. It really makes a difference now that the weathers getting colder.
05. TV. My favourite winter programme is I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. When you first see the advert, it builds a hype for Christmas as you now know it’s only round the corner. I love watching all of the trials and I’m looking forward to seeing Holly Willoughby hosting with Dec this series and facing her fears in the jungle.
A lot of people don’t like the winter and dark evenings so we should wrap up and make the most of the daylight hours to ensure we’re getting the perfect amount of vitamin D.
