Travel Diary of Naples: A Drive Along the Amalfi Coast

On the second day, we went for a drive along the Amalfi Coast stopping off at Positano and Amalfi. This day was a bit more chilled in comparison to the day before considering we'd been up since 2am to catch our flight to Italy.

We jumped on a tour bus from Sorrento train station and headed straight to Amalfi. The drive was well over an hour which I don't think we expected but it went fairly quick as the views were breathtaking!

When we arrived in Amalfi, we walked along the beach where people were in the sea and sunbathing.  It's October and we're talking about beaches ... Forever wishing the UK would have a summer!

We then walked into the main town where we sat down to have lunch. We found ourselves a nice Italian restaurant in a square which overlooked the cathedral. Very cute! After lunch we had a little wander around the shops before heading back to the bus to continue our trip along the Amalfi Coast.

The next stop off was Positano and this was the most beautiful city I think I've ever seen. It's weird as we expected Amalfi to be the better city considering it's known as the Amalfi Coast. However Positano had so much more character and a whole lot more to do there.

We kind of wished we'd had more time to spend in Positano as we arrived around 5pm where the sun started setting. We walked around the shops eventually making our way down towards the beach. When we got to the bottom, we sat and had a drink before making our way back up to get on the bus.

The last bus left Positano at 8pm and the journey was about an hour long so there was no way we could miss our bus!

When we got back to our hotel, we only had a quick turn around to get ready and get out for some dinner. We only had 3 nights in Italy so we wanted to make sure we made an effort to do our makeup and dress up.

By the time we got to the restaurant, it was about 11pm and we were the only ones left in there haha. I totally lost my appetite whilst I was away so I hardly ate anything. I don't think I could have stomached anything at that time either!

So this was our adventure of the Amalfi Coast. The next day we hired our own private speed boat and went for a trip to Capri. (Uploading the blog post tomorrow, keep an eye out!)
