Lunch at Bocconcino London

Me and Emma were invited for lunch at Bocconcino, an Italian in London a few weeks back. As you may know, I don't normally do the whole food thing as I am so fussy, but when an Italian is on the cards, you know there's going to be pizza!

We went to Bocconcino which is based roughly half way between Green Park and Piccadilly Circus. We were given set menus for their signature dishes which consisted from the likes of swordfish and crab salad. But you know me, there I was asking for a plain margarita pizza. What else would it have been? I tell you now, I make a cheap date haha.

We went straight in with the mains, me with my Margarita and Emma with her Swordfish pasta. We also had cocktails and bottomless glasses of water thanks to the waiters who made sure we were constantly topped up. Then skipping onto the best bit ... dessert! Emma had one of their signature cheese cakes whilst I had a chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream. It was literally, to die for. I could have ate it all over again it was so nice and rich.

I'm always going to the same chain Italian restaurants because I'm confident in the menu and food they cook. I know for sure that even Sam is bored of the same places now. Bocconcino is somewhere I'd go with Sam to enjoy a romantic meal out in London and now that I've made that first step in going somewhere new, I may be a bit more adventurous in the future.

When Everything Gets You Down

I've been going through one of those phases where I feel like everything's going wrong and I've struggled to get back to my normal self. I'm usually a very positive person and whenever something bad happens to me, I always believe that something good is yet to come. However, the past few weeks I've just had one problem after another leaving me in a bit of a rut.

Last weekend I thought I'd cheer myself up and get my nails done. One hour later, I walked out of the beauticians with short stubby nails. I went down the road to my Mum's work and ended up breaking down in front of her work colleagues. It wasn't the best sight haha and when I finally pulled myself together, my Mum encouraged me to go back into the nail shop and complain. Something that is way out of my comfort zone! I sat in the nail shop for another hour +, having my old ones soaked off and new ones put on. The things us girls go through for nice nails aye haha.

Throughout the rest of the week there were many other issues but I won't bore you with them. However the final straw for me was when I reversed into a guys car. Of course it was going to happen. What with everything that's been going on the past week, of course I was going to have an accident in my car. So if anyone knows of a car mechanic around Essex/East London area I would really appreciate the recommendation.

Sometimes the smallest of things can seem huge when in reality, any normal day I would have just brushed it off. Deep down I know that sometimes you have to be the lowest you can be to be able to pick yourself up again. Being down like this makes me appreciate everything I have and what I have to look forward to.

This Saturday I'm off to Marbella with the girls which is well needed. I'm looking toward to having a week away and hopefully by the end I will be back to my normal positive self. Make sure you keep up to date on what I get up to next week over on my Instagram @batesrobyn.
