How to Have the Most Efficient Monday

The weekend’s over and we’re back to reality. As usual, Saturday & Sunday have flown by and before you know it, you’re sat back in the office. In all fairness, I don’t love, nor hate Monday’s. I enjoy my job and what I do so getting up on a Monday isn’t stressful for me. I think it’s so important to be in a career which you love as it’s what you wake up for in the mornings.

Don’t get me wrong, I often have ‘Monday Blues’ especially in the Summer when I’ve had a lovely weekend. But as soon as I’m in the office, it’s as though I forget everything I’ve done and find myself amongst the Monday morning rush. Anyways, I love making the most out of my Monday and my week ahead. Here’s how I do it;

Have an Early Start
Waking up early makes me so motivated. I love having productive days and ticking things off my list so waking up early gives me a few more hours to get stuff done. As I’m part time now, my days are slightly different. For instance, on my work days I wake up at 6am and leave the house at 7:15am. I love having 45 minutes in the morning just to get my head set for the day. Even if it means going on my phone in bed and seeing what’s been said and done on social overnight. On blogging days, I usually set my alarm for 6:30am, still nice and early. Depending on my plans for the day, I’m either sat there putting my makeup on or responding to emails by 7:30am.

Be Positive
Waking up with a positive mindset helps me to get so much more out of my day. This doesn’t just apply to Monday’s, I love to wake up like this everyday. Sam is great for doing this and is probably one of the most positive person I’ve ever met. He always says that life is too short to dwell on things and literally jumps out of bed in the morning. Somedays are more positive than others. It’s great to just take some time in the morning just to think about how lucky you are and what you have.

Prepare
To do lists are my favourite to the point where I’ve actually ditched the notepad and mainly use a spreadsheet. Previously working as a Buyer means that I’m a complete excel geek and letting go of spreadsheets isn’t too easy for me to do. My spreadsheet has columns week by week where I fill out the tasks I need to complete by Sunday. I love pastel colours so I change the colours of my boxes as and when I can tick it off. Anyways, to do lists are what I use to prepare for my entire week. On Monday’s, I like to get into the office and write up everything I need to do. It helps me to get a bit of structure and an overview of what my week involves.

What do you do on Monday’s that helps you with your week ahead?

As ever, thank you for taking the time to read my blog post,

Love Robyn xxx
