The Launch of Missguided Babe Power

Who’s excited for Missguided’s new fragrance?!

Last week I went to their event to celebrate the launch of Babe Power. I know, cool name right? Their packaging is just insane as well, I love the idea of having the drink bottle in my bag as my perfume. Also, to spray the fragrance, you have to press down the lid of the can that says 'press for good vibes'. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it! To be honest, Missguided always pull it out of the bag so what else would you expect ...

Okay, I’m not just saying it, but it smells unbelievable! It’s such an everyday smell which I love. I don’t know about you, but I have some expensive perfumes which I always try and save for special occasions. Because of this, I never end up wearing it as much as I thought I would. I feel as though I’ll be wearing Babe Power day in and day out now.

Babe Power will launch on the 26th April (Tomorrow!) In store and online so make sure you grab yours.

If you get your hands on one, let me know what you think of it over on my social pages :)

Why You Shouldn’t Compare Yourself to Others

Comparing your lifestyle, career and achievements to others is quite a common thing. To be honest, I feel like this mainly happens within a profession or workplace as it’s where you want to progress and be the best that you can. Truth of the matter is; you shouldn’t compare yourself to anyone as you are your own person and nobody can fault you for that.

The Best Bits
Through social media, you’ll only tend to see the best bits and highlights of what’s going on in people’s lives. Very rarely you’ll see people arguing or going through a rough patch. Which in all fairness, I feel like you should see this side of people as that’s what makes them real and down to earth. We all go through bad stages in our lives whether it’s for petty reasons or something personal and it’s okay to open up about those things. We’re all human and it’s amazing to support our friends and family if they need you there. I know I’ve moaned and cried about the smallest of things before, but that’s what makes me a typical 20 year old girl.

No One's Better Than Anyone
People should never believe that they're better than anyone else as everyone has the right to be treated equally. No one is ‘above’ anyone, no matter in what you do and this goes for where you work, who you know, who your friends are or how many followers you have. We all started off in the same place. On the other hand, you shouldn’t feel like you’re worse off because of any of those reasons. Take some time to appreciate everything you’ve worked for in life and how rewarding it felt when you achieved it all.

Set Your Own Goals
We're all different from one another. When you come to think of it, as Bloggers, we have our unique style, structure, goals and plans. Everyone of us is different and we can’t live in the shadow of other people. Set your own goals which you want to personally achieve as this may work for you, but not for someone else. My Mum had me saying ever since I was in primary school ‘be an individual’ and it’s true. Because you’re so unique and there’s no one else like you out there.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading through my blog post. Even whilst I was writing this, I felt like everything was put into perspective and I’m feeling really grateful for everything I have worked towards. Just remember to stay true to who you are and never beat yourself over things. Everything happens for a reason and what you put in is what you get out of life. Oh and one last thing, you’re doing great.

My Favourite Places to go in London

Considering I spend the majority of my time in London at the moment, I thought I’d share with you my favourite places that I love to go. To be honest, I love to walk in London and would rather do that than jump in a taxi or on the tube. Especially when the weathers nice, I love to discover new places and short cuts which I never knew existed.
Icco Pizzaria
First on my list of course! I swear every time I meet new people, I have to fill them in on this insane pizzaria located just behind Oxford Street. I actually picked up an email last week which read ‘shall we meet in that pizza place you was talking about?’ Story of my life! If you’re in London, you have to stop by and grab a pizza. They literally start from about £3/£4 and are huge! If you go, please let me know as it will literally make my day! :)
Do you ever go somewhere and just feel so comfortable and relaxed? When I was 16, I started college in London’s Fashion Retail Academy located in Soho. I graduated when I was 18 and I can honestly say they were the best 2 years of my life. I would do absolutely anything to be back there right now. Me and the girls spent 2 years walking around Soho together doing assignments and group tasks so to me, it feels like my second home. If you’re not from this area, then Soho is located in Central London. Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road and Goodge Street are all based in Soho.
The place where you just feel good vibes. Shoreditch is so cool & trendy! I actually love Shoreditch as there’s so many unique things to do. Box Park being one of them. The place is located above Shoreditch High Street Station where you’ll find shops, restaurants, bars and many other stalls. I feel like in Shoreditch, you can discover some really hidden places which you never knew existed.

Covent Garden
There’s always so much going on in Covent Garden including stand up performers, bars and shops. The place is heaving with people, especially at the weekend. It’s somewhere I would come a lot when I was younger with my family so it kind of brings back childhood memories. Close to Covent Garden is Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square which also have lots of things to do. They’re only short walks from each other so you can spend a few hours on one place before going onto the next.

O2 Arena, North Greenwich
When I was a teenager, I use to love going to concerts at the O2. I still do, but when I was 14 through to 18, I would be going every couple of months. Yet again I feel like this just brings back my childhood. The O2 has so many restaurants inside like you wouldn’t believe! Talk about being spoilt for choice. Sometimes it’s nice to go somewhere in London where it’s a bit more chilled out than central.

I don’t know what I’d do without London being as close as it is. I feel like there’s so much going on, literally like a world of it’s own. When you spend time walking around London, you’ll see that it’s not so big and you’re literally a couple of minutes in between each tube station. If you explore anywhere new in London, then drop me a tweet and let know all about it :)

5 Beauty Products You Need to Know About

With the competition between beauty products being as high as ever, how do we know what products are best and show great results? Well that’s where I’m here to help you on my favourite ones that work for me.

#01 MUA (Highlighting Powder)
So in the past year I’ve been experimenting with all different types of highlighters. I found that some are so pigmented and I didn’t feel like they were natural for everyday use. Last summer I went to an MUA event where they were launching their new MUA LUXE collection. Since then, I’ve never looked back and haven’t used any other highlighter. You literally use the smallest bit and it makes such a difference to your makeup giving you that little bit of ‘pop’. Shop the highlighter here.

#02 MUA (Liquid Highlighting Sponge)
I know I’m using MUA again but I believe so much in their LUXE collection. They also have a highlighting sponge whereby I literally dab my finger and apply it to my cheek bones. Once again, the smallest bit makes all the difference. What I love mostly about their products is when you’re in normal lighting, you hardly notice the product which makes it look so much more natural. Then as soon as you get a bit of light, you literally shine bright girl! Shop the highlighter here.

#03 Model Cosmetics One Hour Fake Tan Mousse
Now that we’re getting all these summer vibes, I’m loving the idea of wearing dresses and skirts so obv, I need to fake tan my legs before I go out. That’s where Model-Co come in with their One Hour Fake Tan Mousse. If you’re anything like me, then applying fake tan is literally a last minute thing where I’m left doing it a few hours before I walk out the door. So with this One Hour Fake tan, I’m able to apply it and leave to dry whilst I’m usually doing my hair or makeup. Shop the fake tan here.

#04 MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot
My favourite thing ever! You would not believe how much of a life changer this product is. I found that in college, I was applying my eyeshadow and by the end of the day, I had creases where I had been blinking all day. Well MAC literally changed my life around. Now I apply this as a primer for my eyes and leave it to dry and set. My eyeshadow now lasts all day long and I don’t have to worry about topping it up throughout the day. I come home and it looks exactly the same as it did when I left the house. Shop the longwear paint pot here.

#05 Carmex Lipbalms
I actually have a story about this … I was in work the other day and decided to just go through my makeup bag and see whether I had anything exciting in there. I sat there with my friend and emptied my lip balms one by one onto my desk. 7. 7 lip balms were in my bag, 5 of them being Carmex. How is that even possible? Haha, oh I wouldn’t be able to leave my house without a lip balm every day. Carmex are my favourite as they just smell sooooooo good. Shop the carmex lip balm here.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my 5 top beauty products. I have so many more which I would also love to share with you at a later date. Don’t forget to get in contact with me via Twitter and let me know what your favourite are!

How to Have the Most Efficient Monday

The weekend’s over and we’re back to reality. As usual, Saturday & Sunday have flown by and before you know it, you’re sat back in the office. In all fairness, I don’t love, nor hate Monday’s. I enjoy my job and what I do so getting up on a Monday isn’t stressful for me. I think it’s so important to be in a career which you love as it’s what you wake up for in the mornings.

Don’t get me wrong, I often have ‘Monday Blues’ especially in the Summer when I’ve had a lovely weekend. But as soon as I’m in the office, it’s as though I forget everything I’ve done and find myself amongst the Monday morning rush. Anyways, I love making the most out of my Monday and my week ahead. Here’s how I do it;

Have an Early Start
Waking up early makes me so motivated. I love having productive days and ticking things off my list so waking up early gives me a few more hours to get stuff done. As I’m part time now, my days are slightly different. For instance, on my work days I wake up at 6am and leave the house at 7:15am. I love having 45 minutes in the morning just to get my head set for the day. Even if it means going on my phone in bed and seeing what’s been said and done on social overnight. On blogging days, I usually set my alarm for 6:30am, still nice and early. Depending on my plans for the day, I’m either sat there putting my makeup on or responding to emails by 7:30am.

Be Positive
Waking up with a positive mindset helps me to get so much more out of my day. This doesn’t just apply to Monday’s, I love to wake up like this everyday. Sam is great for doing this and is probably one of the most positive person I’ve ever met. He always says that life is too short to dwell on things and literally jumps out of bed in the morning. Somedays are more positive than others. It’s great to just take some time in the morning just to think about how lucky you are and what you have.

To do lists are my favourite to the point where I’ve actually ditched the notepad and mainly use a spreadsheet. Previously working as a Buyer means that I’m a complete excel geek and letting go of spreadsheets isn’t too easy for me to do. My spreadsheet has columns week by week where I fill out the tasks I need to complete by Sunday. I love pastel colours so I change the colours of my boxes as and when I can tick it off. Anyways, to do lists are what I use to prepare for my entire week. On Monday’s, I like to get into the office and write up everything I need to do. It helps me to get a bit of structure and an overview of what my week involves.

What do you do on Monday’s that helps you with your week ahead?

As ever, thank you for taking the time to read my blog post,
