Motivational Fitness Tips | Elle Sport

I love going to my weekly gym classes and enjoy the feel good factor that it leaves me with. However, we all have those times when we would rather curl up on the sofa with our cosy pjs on. That's when the motivational tips start to kick in ...

New Workout Clothes!
First things first, I love buying myself new fitness outfits and I'm beyond grateful to have received these amazing pieces from ELLE Sport! New workout clothes motivate me so much as it makes me want to get myself down the gym to show it all off. These pieces are so comfortable and very flattering, I love that they're so detailed and stand out from other high street brands.

Updating your music library is a must! There's nothing better than kicking off your workout with a new and upbeat song. If you really want to get your summer body on, download something that will motivate you.

Gym Classes
This is a strict way of making sure you complete your full hour's workout. You can't get away early by doing half a session. If I start avoiding the gym, this is what I do to give myself a kick up the backside! (Don't forget, they can be fun)

Find a Buddy
If all fails, then find yourself a new gym buddy. Sam is mine and he helps to support me when I need it. I can tell you now, he's no pushover and makes me do what I'm there for. (Then we go home and I cook him pizza)

And with all this in mind, hopefully any fitness phobia's will be put to rest. Good luck!

Don't forget to use my discount code for 20% off your order with ELLE Sport: 20RBSS16

50 Facts About Me | YouTube Video

Something I have been contemplating doing for a very long time. It was a platform that I wasn’t sure about doing as I didn’t feel like I had the confidence to talk directly about myself. But what the heck, I started up my blog with the same feeling and I couldn’t be happier now!

I created my YouTube account a while back now to post a Vlog here and there about my fashion outfits and days out. But my new video is something a bit different which I hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think :)

Monday's Update: Something New!

Good morning everyone!

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.

I spent my Saturday roaming around Notting Hill, London where I took these snaps and creating content for my next blog posts. Just to let you know, there's quite a few Fashion ones coming up!

Well done to all of the people who ran in the London Marathon yesterday! I was there to cheer everyone on and I guarantee my Brother will have a sore throat this morning. I've been wanting to enter the marathon for a while now so hopefully next year is my chance.

I have something new and exciting to share with everyone ...

I've finally started up a personal YouTube channel! You may have seen a few of my vlogs but I'm hoping to create a lot more lifestyle videos. (View my channel HERE)

I'll be uploading my first one this week so make sure you look out for it!

I hope you all have a lovely week and I look forward to sharing some more blog posts with you soon.

My Favourite Blogging Apps

It's a necessity for me to have the best mobile apps to help create my blog the way I want it. Before I had them, I relied on the basic editing tools which okay, they're good, but I can tell you what to download that's even better!

A few Apps I use help me with my day to day blogging routine which I find very helpful! Especially as I work full time, sometimes it's hard to access my social accounts. That's where these come in ...

This is one I've recently come across. I've known about scheduling Twitter posts for a while now, but I've just started to test the water. It's working! Buffer is good as you can tell when you're getting the most interaction throughout the day. This is when I choose to schedule and publish my posts.

This was the first blogging app I downloaded. My website is hosted by blogger so this helps to view all of my posts. When I'm out and about, I can always log into blogger and draft up my upcoming posts. This is my bread and water app!

The best photo editing app I have used! There's so many different tools you can access using this app, including retouching and tuning - Those are the two most popular for me! I love experimenting with the effects and finding a style that suits my Instagram and blog.

You may have noticed on my Instagram - @batesrobyn - that I have a slightly larger white border around my images. This is the app I use to do this. I also make the border a lot thiner by using the editing tools just to make my layout a bit neater :)

These are my top four mobile apps that I use every day. I hope they work for you just as well as they do for me! :) And don't forget, they're all free to download! So make sure you take a look at them and let me know what you think x

Monday's Update: Flo's First Ice-Cream

I've had a lot going on this week with sorting out my new car and selling my old one. I've also had a few changes at work and it's been a bit hectic to say the least.

So it was lovely to finish the week with a stroll along the beach yesterday with Sam and Flo.

We woke up extra early to take Flo along the beach. Me and Sam have said about doing it for a while now because we wanted her to run along the sand and experience something new.

As you can probably tell, she absolutely loved it! The weather was amazing so we sat down to get an ice-cream on the way back to the car.

Me and Sam never feed Flo anything other than her dog food so having her first ice-cream was a treat! (I think she enjoyed it?) I've never seen something demolished within the space of a few minutes!

I suppose she can have a few more when the summer arrives :) Take a look at her Instagram account HERE to see more pics of her!

In With The New

Well at last, she's here! And it's everything I dreamed of and more ...

Last Friday I couldn't contain my excitement knowing my new car was on it's way to my house. It was the longest day, I was just clock watching for most of it!

For the past few weeks, I've been in contact with Sporting Torque arranging to get myself a new Mercedes A Class. For a while now I've been looking for a car and this company offered me the best price! They were very patient with me throughout the whole thing and didn't force me into making any rash decisions.

Sporting Torque were always professional and came back with answers as soon as they could! I felt like the whole process happened so easily and I had my new car in no time!

I am still learning how to use the technology and where everything is. I'm so thankful that Sporting Torque are still on the end of the phone and making sure I'm okay with everything. Great after service!

It didn't seem to phase them either when I called at 11:30pm Friday night asking how to put my car into auto mode. Certainly a blonde moment!

On Friday my car was delayed due to traffic (joys of the M25!) But the men who delivered my car still spent time with me making sure I was happy!

Thank you so much to everyone at Sporting Torque, especially Jody for everything! I would certainly recommend this car dealership to anyone looking to buy themselves a new or used car!

A Shot of Glam

Being invited to an event is becoming big news for me. Last week I was invited to Glam Colchester for a fashion and beauty weekend which, of course, I was looking forward to.

The weekend was hosted at the Colchester United Football Stadium so you can probably guess that Sam set me up for with this one! I brought along my girlfriends and we found out about a lot of new brands, treatments and products.

The weekend was full of shows and tutorials which we were all interested in. One of them being Botox! Ouch! We sat there watching a lady have her treatment and finding out what's involved. I didn't realise how many places on your body can be adjusted using botox. Also, that it can be used for a variety of medical issues.

I managed to pick myself up one of these Make Believe fake tans. Before I continue, the smell of it was amazing! I'm always conscience if I wear fake tan as the last thing I want is for it to give off a strong smell. That's why this one was perfect for me!

I've very easy to apply and gives an even finish.

Aroma Works taught me a lot about skincare in such a short space of time. I never realised how good oil is for your skin ... In some ways, a lot better than moisturiser! Oil gets behind your dead skin cells and gives you a healthy glow. I tested these products and I found the results amazing!

I can confirm that shots were involved ... I don't often drink alcohol so having two Sex on the Beach shots went straight to my head haha!

Once again, thank you Glam Colchester for the invite to your amazing health and beauty event!

Monday's Update: Out With The Old

This will be the last Monday I ever drive my first car! What an end of an era ...

I remember the first day I passed my driving test, I picked my friends up and went straight to McDonalds ... of course. I also managed to get my first parking ticket there as I stayed in their car park for over 90 minutes haha. I can't say I'll be doing that again any time soon!

My car has taken me to many places and been my wardrobe on MANY occasions! If ever I couldn't find something to wear, I could always rely on Gabby (my car) to have an outfit somewhere.

Although I'm looking forward to getting my new car this week, I will probably shed a tear seeing Gabby drive away.

Make sure you add my snapchat - batesrobyn - to get the first glimps of my new car :)

Why I Started Blogging

I started up my blog because I love everything about fashion and photography! Having my own blog gave me the perfect platform to get creative and let my passion run free. I can’t say it was easy, but I can promise you that it was the best thing I’ve done!

Since a young age I’ve enjoyed photography and art. Over the past 5 years I would say that I’ve had 4 different types of cameras. All of which, have enhanced my passion!

I always knew that I’d love to do something which involved photography, although portrait shots were never really my thing. At the time, I didn’t know what else there was career wise that I would be interested in doing.

When I first heard about blogging, I was hooked and found myself reading blogs every single night. Which I admit, I still do now! It’s something I love doing in my spare time and find it hard to switch off from it all.

Before blogging, I would take thousands of photos that would only end up on my computer. Not doing much … until I had to delete them to clear up memory! Now, the majority of my photos are uploaded straight onto my blog to share with everyone who is interested in what I do. It makes it so much easier for me to look back at old photos and reminisce the memories I’ve made!

In senior school, I remember taking myself up to London with my camera to take photos around Brick Lane. I worried my Mum sick as you can imagine! But it was something I wanted to do as not many people around me understood my interests at the time.

Choosing to Study at The Fashion Retail Academy helped me to discover fashion in more depth. This is when I first heard about blogging and decided to start up my own one. Little did I know that some of the bloggers I look up to graduated from my college a few years before me! This made me even more determined as I felt like I already had something in common with them.

Since August last year, I’ve started to create myself a little journal on my blog (my archive) which I love looking back at. It’s good for me to see where it all begin and how I’ve got to the point I am at now.

Thank you to everyone who take the time to read my blogs every week. Not only in the UK, but across the world as well! Never did I think that I would be getting views from Australia, Netherlands, Crypus and many more each week! I really appreciate every single view, share, like and comment!

A Weekend Break in Hastings

In my opinion, I don't think you can beat a caravan holiday by the seaside. Going away last weekend with family and friends brought back all of the memories I had when I was a lot younger. Having a little Brother makes everything more magical so I couldn't wait to spend the weekend with him!

Last Friday I headed down to Hastings, UK, for a little get away. We certainly had the best weather to the point where I caught myself a little tan! On the Saturday we went for a 4 mile walk along the beach where I took the majority of these snaps! (And where my Brother, Ted took the majority of the stones from the beach)

It's amazing how such a small town can be cram packed with so much history! Me and my Mum decided to take cliff lift to get a better view of the old town. I don't think I've seen anything quite like it!

We stayed on a caravan site called Combe Haven which I would strongly recommend! They had so much to offer it was a shame we had only booked up for the weekend. Did I mention that they had a Papa Johns restaurant? I was in my element!

I had such a lovely weekend and the company was amazing. The children were all adorable and they were a great excuse for me to go back and use the penny machines in the arcade!

It was such an ideal holiday for me and Ted because I loved the cultural/history side of things. He loved the typical seaside/football/ice-cream/doughnuts shall I continue ... ?

I've only told you a bit about Hastings but there's so much more on offer so it's certainly worth a visit!
