Monday's Update: Easter Weekend

I could certainly get use to this 4 day weekend! I must admit, it has been lovely having some time off to   unwind and to focus a bit more on my blog.

Easter Sunday was amazing and really brought the spirit back to life with my cousins. The Easter bunny left lots of treats around the garden for all of the children to find on their little hunt. A typical trait of us Bates's is being competitive with one another! So it was certainly a race against time as we were in two teams! And of course, the girls won :)

My Family are very art-y and creative so my Aunt decided to make her own Easter cards this year to give to us. I first thought that our card was bought from a shop, I couldn't believe how professional it looked! My Aunt had my cousins each leave a coloured finger print on the front and drew on the little finishing touches. Certainly making note of this little idea!

My other cousins spent their Good Friday making us up some chocolate brownies, a chocolate cake and chocolate coated marshmallows. Believe me, they tasted just as good as they looked!

In the evening we went for some dinner in one of our local pubs. This time with my Mum's side of the family. We ate to our hearts content, played pool (I won of course :P) and went back home to play more games.

Today me and Sam will be relaxing and catching up on things from the weekend. We're off to the O2 tomorrow evening to watch Dynamo the Magician so add me on my Snapchat to find out what we get up to - batesrobyn

Happy Easter with Topshop

First of all, Happy Easter everyone!

I saw this Rain Mac in Topshop this week and thought it's so seasonal, I had to have it! Little did I know, I would receive so many positive comments on it just in the past few days.

They also had this coat in white if the yellow isn't your colour.

I've never been one to wear bright colours so I wasn't sure how this one would go down ... So far, so good & now it's here to stay!

Just to add; The first time I wore this (Good Friday) I actually had a seagull fly over the top of my head and yeah ... you know what happened! I had to embrace it and make a joke out of the situation! Otherwise I may have cried haha.

So I'm seeing it as a lucky coat! Not that I thought so at the time :(

The Easter Bunny came to visit myself and my Little Brother Teddy last night and left us out some lovely treats! So I know what will be occupying us this morning ...

I hope you're all going to have a lovely day spent with your families! Today I will be visiting my friends and family, oh and probably eating my body weight in chocolate!

Add me on my snapchat to see what I get up to today - batesrobyn

What Happens in London

I love London and I'm so lucky to live less than an hour away from the city! Now that Summer's coming up, I'm making a promise to myself ... that I go and experience new places in London as it has so much to offer!

A few months ago, I went to Sushi Samba in the evening and it was amazing! I was blown away by how bright the city was lit up and the views there were from the bar. This week I decided to take Sam up there to find out what it's like during the day. It was a good pit stop whilst we had to wait for Sam's appointment with his surgeon in Marble Arch.

I cannot believe it's been two weeks since Sam had an operation on his ankle! - Road to Recovery - I feel like it's flown by! (Not that he'd agree...)

This week he was taken out of his cast and put into a boot so that he can start with his rehabilitation. And so far he's doing well!

He's still using his crutches here and there and he'll be going back into football on Wednesday. This week he will start light movement on his ankle which will help to strengthen the tendon.

There's still a long way to go but this is the start!

Monday's Update: Olympic Park & Sam's Progress

This week has been very exciting for me as I was contacted about creating a blog post for Pink Soda Sport. I was given the option of selecting 5 products of my choice from their collection!

I had them sent to me this week and I couldn't wait to take photos to show you all. I thought what better place to go, than The Queen Elizabeth's Olympic Park in Stratford?! Being Sport Relief weekend, it was amazing to take a little tour of the park to see what was going on.

I had so many views on my blog post about Sam's operation - The Road to Recovery - which he really appreciated. Because of this, I thought I'd give you an update on his progress ...

Apart from going stir crazy, he is doing as he's told and resting. This week he will be going back up to London to hopefully get his cast off and to find out what the next step for him is. Fingers crossed! Next week he should be going back into football (the gym) and working on getting fit for pre season.

My Favourite Gym Class with Pink Soda Sport

I've always been into the gym and have been going for about 3 years now. I love staying active and of course, it's essential to have only the best workout clothes. Right?

This week I received a parcel from Pink Soda Sport Gym Wear with a handful of pieces from their new collection. I was so excited when I opened it and couldn't wait to upload a blog post all about it! You may of already caught a little glimps of my outfits - if you have me on snapchat (batesrobyn) - but here you can see my little look book of the outfits.

Pink Soda Sport Gym Wear is a brand stocked in JD Sports. It's absolutely perfect for girls looking to keep fit and wanting to branch out from the original sportswear brands. I came across Pink Soda Sport Gym Wear a couple of months ago and fell in love with their collection. So I cannot believe I've been able to get my hands on these amazing products for this SS16!

Pink Soda Sport tick all the right boxes when it comes to fashionable gym wear! My gym wardrobe probably consists of 90% black and 10% colour so I cannot wait to throw these into the mix. Last summer I wore an outfit the same colour as the pink sports bra and it enhanced my tan so much! I love the colour and I'm so excited to wear the matching leggings too.

Now that the nights are getting longer and the temperatures are picking up, I'm enjoying working out a lot more. It's because summer is coming fast and I need to get myself into shape for the holidays and events coming up! I've been going to the gym a couple of days a week and attending my usual Body Pump classes (which I swear by). I've been doing these classes for years and I really feel like they've made a difference to my body shape.

Body Pump is good if you're looking to tone up your whole body. Each sound track helps to work a different muscle and consists of just a few exercises. Recently I've been a bit more hard on myself and I've been adding onto my weights. After all, I just think it's only a few minutes of pain that will get me my results!

Working out is very good for your lifestyle and will help you to feel so much better in yourself. If I miss the gym for a few days/week I really notice the difference in myself. After having a weekend off, I'm looking forward to getting myself back into the gym tomorrow wearing my new Pink Soda Sport Gym Wear. The hardest decision is going to be choosing which one to wear!

Take a look at Pink Soda Sport's Gym Wear collection HERE. I guarantee that you'll fall in love ...

Life After The Fashion Retail Academy

Last year I graduated from The Fashion Retail Academy and I cannot explain how much I'm missing it!

For two years I studied Fashion Business right in the heart of London so as you can imagine, everything to do with Fashion was on my doorstep. Over the years, I studied many different subjects such as Buying, PR and Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Styling and many more! I loved every single one of them to the point where I must of changed my career plan at least 5 times!

My course was very fashion intense (of course) which I loved! I felt like I knew everything about the industry within those two years. The FRA offered so many free subscriptions to fashion websites which was amazing as you could find out all of the inside goss and what's going on within the industry!

As well as classes, we had the opportunity to go on trips to galleries, exhibitions, The Clothes Show Live in Birmingham and that's just to name a few! I wish I started blogging back then so that I could of shown you what was going on and how much they had on offer.

I attended many lectures from company directors within the industry as well as one with Sir Phillip Green (the most inspirational man I have ever met). Did you know that Sir Phillip Green started by buying a denim company for just 1p and now he is the owner of the Arcadia Group! I was always blown away with the stories of how companies started from humble beginnings. It's taught me to never to give up on my dreams.

Our graduation was an a spectacular event held at Freemasons Hall in Holborn, London. Not only did Vernon Kaye present the evening, we also had appearances from Tess Daly, Ciara, Tony Blair the CEO's of Tesco's and Sainsbury's. To top it off, Paloma Faith serenaded us in a shower of golden confetti. It was the perfect way to end an unbelievable era.

I have to mention the friends I made there! In the beginning I was a bit apprehensive as I hadn't studied in a class where the majority of the students were girls. Little did I know that I was about to meet the most amazing, loving, talented and caring group of girls! I have loads to say for the people I met there, especially the 5 girls I'm holding onto for life! I really don't know what I would do without them and I'm so grateful to have met them throughout my last 2 years of education. I thank them for making my college experience beyond incredible!

I feel so passionate about my college and would do anything to go back to those two years at The Fashion Retail Academy! I'm actually crying whilst writing blog as the memories are all flooding back! I would strongly recommend studying there if you love the world of fashion. They offer so many more courses. In the beginning I applied for two of them as I knew how much I wanted to study there. I am now an Assistant Buyer for Base Children's Wear and without the knowledge I gained from the FRA, this would not have been possible!

Monday's Update: The Week Ahead

So the week ahead will consist of me driving to and from work and Sam's as he's in a cast for the next couple of weeks or so.

Gabby (my little VW Golf) has been my everything for the past two years. She is my first car & I love her but I think it's time to let go of her soon.

I've been looking at getting myself a new car and I've fallen in love with the new Mercedes A Class. I've been back and forth from Mercedes for the past few weeks as I want to make sure that I'm a 100% before I agree to it.

I know it's going to be a busy week as I have more orders from my Love Robyn collection as well as writing blogs for a craft company! I'll fill you in more about that once it's finished and published onto their website! And of course, working on my two blogs that I'll be posting throughout the week.

I hope you all have a lovely Monday!
